Andrea Crook named Clinton West Support Professional of the Year

Andrea Crook is the 2025-2026 Clinton West Elementary Support Professional of the Year!

Andrea joined Team Tulsa in 1998 and started working at Clinton West in 2018 where she works as a pre-K teacher's assistant. We asked Andrea a few questions to learn more about her and her time in Tulsa Public Schools.

What led you to a career in education?

As a busy wife, mom of four boys, and an assistant manager of a retail store in the late 1990s, I needed a change and decided to be a stay-at-home mom. Word got to the principal of my son's school that I was no longer working, and she offered me a job. It was a perfect fit for me and my family!  Basically, my career found me, and I still LOVE it.

What is your favorite thing about your work?

My favorite thing about my job is the bond created with my students. There is nothing like getting a visit from a former student years later and hearing that you had truly made a difference in their life. I love being a part of setting the foundation for each child's educational path.

What is one thing you are passionate about outside of teaching?

Outside of work, I'm most passionate about spending time with my family, including my eight wonderful grandchildren. My hobbies include traveling, singing and leisure piano, amateur gardening, walking, and spending time at my parents' lake house.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I have only worked at westside schools (Park, Porter, and Clinton West) and love the small-town feel of the community. It's always exciting to have the child of a former student in my class.

My school, CWE has made great progress in the past year, and we are all very proud of that. Hear the Lions ROAR!
